Dissected: Oil on Canvas Paintings by Luis Pedro Picasso
Published Feb 1, 2024
Uruguayan artist Luis Pedro Picasso creates peculiar artworks featuring dissected subjects depicted in oil on canvas. His style incorporates elements of surrealism with an intriguing touch of the macabre.
The artist mentions his deep appreciation for the human and animal form, as well as the process of dissection, as his main sources of inspiration. In his own words:
“Regardless of our visible physical differences, we are all equal in our essence.”
His paintings feature animals and pop culture icons as subjects, split in half to expose their internal anatomy, or sometimes, to unveil something completely unexpected.
You can find more of Luis’ work on Instagram, and his artwork is also available for purchase on Society6.
