Dazzling Multilayered Resin Paintings by Nat Bowen
Published Apr 10, 2024
Known as the “Queen of Color,” Nat Bowen is a British abstract artist who creates striking, multilayered resin paintings.
Nat’s artistic practice is deeply rooted in the study of Chromatology, with a particular focus on the psychology of color. She creates her pieces using pigmented epoxy resin poured onto an acrylic base, with each layer building upon the last to create vibrant, glossy orbs that captivate and intrigue. These dynamic and mesmerizing pieces interact with their environment, changing and adapting with the light.
Nat’s approach to art is as much about the process as it is about the outcome. For her, painting is a form of therapy, a way to navigate the complexities of wellbeing, meditation and mental health. It’s a practice that began as a personal journey but has since evolved into a shared experience. Through her art, she encourages viewers to enter a meditative state, to be present and mindful, allowing the colors and forms to wash over them.
