Clusters: Digital Experiments by Erik Scotti
Published Jun 2, 2025
Italian 3D artist Erik Scotti has been quietly building a universe where pencils, erasers and toy ducks defy gravity and logic. In his ongoing series of “clusters,” he assembles familiar everyday objects into tightly packed, floating masses that are equal parts playful and precise.
At first glance, the results might seem chaotic, but look closer and the technical finesse becomes clear. Erik’s skill in CG art shows in the details: scuffed rubber, worn cardboard sleeves, scratched wood and the dull shine of pencil tips. There’s a visual tension in how mundane these objects are, yet how strange they feel when suspended and reorganized in this way. It’s a clever way to turn everyday clutter into sculptural studies of form, texture and balance.
While he hasn’t formally labeled these as part of a single project, the visual thread is hard to miss. The clusters seem to act as an ongoing playground for Erik to test ideas and sharpen his craft. They’re also surprisingly satisfying to look at. You can follow his experiments and evolving style on his Behance or Instagram, where more of these curious object-clouds continue to take shape.
