ChiliFactory’s Contemporary Asian Identity by Human

Mexican studio Human, whose work has been featured on the Grid many times over the years, is back again with a striking identity for ChiliFactory, a contemporary Asian fine dining restaurant based in Sydney. The project combines Thai and Japanese influences to shape a brand that feels refined and full of personality.

Human built the system around a simple yet confident wordmark paired with a loose, almost calligraphic scribble that reads like a signature. This minimalist foundation becomes a strong counterpoint to the vivid illustrations by Eduardo Ramon Trejo, whose intricate engravings add layers of cultural detail and visual intrigue. Together, these elements strike a balance between elegance and edge that reflects the restaurant’s culinary vision.

The identity unfolds across menus, invitations, signage and marketing materials, each application shifting between bold color fields, textured linework and subtle embossed treatments. The studio’s work captures ChiliFactory’s fusion approach in a considered and contemporary way, without losing its sense of tradition and character.
