Aimasia Residence by Tom Dixon & A31 Architecture
Published Dec 16, 2024
Perched on the hills of Elia beach in Mykonos, Aimasia Residence is a stunning collaboration between British designer Tom Dixon and Greek studio A31 Architecture.
This 850-square-meter villa stands out with its thoughtful integration into the rugged landscape. The design embraces a 62-meter-long dry-stone wall that runs through the property, drawing inspiration from Mykonos’ historic agricultural terraces. Dixon’s modern aesthetic and A31’s respect for the land combine to create a home that feels both rooted in tradition and strikingly contemporary.
The villa’s design celebrates its surroundings, blending indoor and outdoor spaces seamlessly. Full-height sliding glass doors open onto expansive terraces, an infinity pool, and awe-inspiring views of the Aegean Sea. Native plants blanket the green roofs, ensuring the house harmonizes with the site’s natural contours. The interiors by Tom Dixon offer a minimalist yet bold approach, featuring bespoke furniture, curved elements, and locally sourced granite. Bathrooms incorporate stone from the island, while concrete walls and ceilings remain exposed, adding texture and artistry to the home’s palette.
