Walls of Wonder: Murals by Regina Yafasova

Russian artist Regina Yafasova creates large-scale murals filled with graceful figures, lush botanical elements and carefully layered color. Her work often combines portraits with symbolic details drawn from nature, folklore and personal memory, turning building facades into warm, story-driven compositions.

Many of her murals revolve around ideas of renewal, knowledge and changing seasons. Zarya (Dawn) depicts a red-haired girl alongside a rooster and rising sun, using each element as a symbol of awakening, hope and new beginnings. Charoit draws from the legend of a girl whose soul became the purple charoite stone. In Muse, a young woman surrounded by books reflects Regina’s memories of school and the relationship between learning, creativity and leadership.

That same sense of reflection is seen in Eseniya, a celebration of autumn as a season for taking stock of what’s been achieved. Across these works, flowing linework, decorative patterns and dense foliage give Regina’s murals a storybook feel, bringing moments of tenderness and color to the otherwise monotonous urban landscape.
