Vietnam Through a Creative Lens: Illustrations by Bui Ngan
Published May 6, 2025
Bui Ngan is a gifted Vietnamese illustrator who turns ordinary moments into extraordinary art. Based in Ho Chi Minh City, she pulls inspiration from her surroundings, particularly the lives of women and children, along with the rich layers of Vietnamese culture. She has an incredible talent for capturing the magic in those fleeting, everyday scenes, often infusing them with a hint of fantasy and surrealism.
Bui says she starts her creative process by identifying “keywords” that define the emotions or themes she wants to explore. This brainstorming stage is the key that helps shape her artistic direction, allowing her to draw with clarity and intention.
To continue exploring Bui Ngan’s fascinating illustrations, check out her work on ArtStation, Behance and Instagram.
