Urban Handbook: A Playful Guide to City Critters by Noémi Nyirfa
Published Jul 31, 2025
Hungarian graphic designer and illustrator Noémi Nyirfa brings urban animals into the spotlight with her self-initiated project, Urban Handbook. This vibrant editorial celebrates pigeons, squirrels, raccoons and other street-smart characters, portraying them in bold fluorescent hues and highlighting their charming personality traits.
Printed using risograph in vibrant pink and green, the zine combines editorial design, illustration, and a love for the quirky side of urban spaces. Each spread pairs playful artwork with witty titles like The Forager, The Rogue, and The Bold Explorer, putting a fun spin on how these animals thrive in the concrete jungle.
