The Poetry of Precision: Guido Mocafico’s “Movement” Series
Published Jul 17, 2025
Paris-based photographer Guido Mocafico turns the mechanical heart of watches into pure visual poetry with his mesmerizing photo series Movement. Shot in stunning macro detail against pitch-black backgrounds, the images in this series reveal the inner worlds of luxury timepieces: tiny universes of wheels, springs, jewels and gears, arranged with mathematical beauty and artisanal precision. In his own words:
“I wanted to show the technical, mechanical and paradoxically poetical elements housed within these tiny living machines.”
Collected in a beautifully produced book (available on Amazon), Movement captures works from horological giants like Patek Philippe, Rolex and Audemars Piguet, presenting each in luminous clarity. You can explore the series and more of Guido Mocafico’s incredible work over on his website.
