The Last of Its Kind: A Lancia Rally 037 Tribute by INK

London-based creative studio INK has unveiled “The Last of Its Kind,” the latest instalment in their “Brutal Beasts” series, a collection of digital pieces that pay homage to the golden era of rallying. The series started with a striking rendition of the Audi Quattro S1 E2, and they have now shifted their focus to the Lancia Rally 037, a car that made a significant impact during the perilous days of Group B rallying. With Lancia poised to make a rallying comeback after more than 30 years with the new Ypsilon HF, INK’s tribute to the 037 feels especially poignant.

Introduced as Lancia’s first entry in the Group B series, the Lancia Rally 037 holds the distinction of being the last two-wheel-drive car to win the World Rally Championship.

“The Last of Its Kind” captures the essence of the Lancia Rally 037 through meticulously crafted CGI imagery and an evocative short film. Rendered in a stark grey, the digital images showcase the car’s intricate details, all captured through INK’s distinctive minimalist style. The teaser film brings the spirit of Group B rallying to life, with the 037 hurtling down a dark road, illuminated by dramatic lighting and accompanied by the roar of its engine.
