Sucre Restaurant Branding by DutchScot
Published Oct 4, 2024
London-based studio DutchScot created this elegant visual identity for Sucre, a restaurant that embraces immigration through its blend of Latin American and European influences.
The unique identity crafted by DutchScot embodies the story of Chef Fernando Trocca’s background as an immigrant, as well as the adventurous European spirits that went the opposite way, finding a home in Argentina.
Sucre is housed within a 310-year-old former concert hall, a setting that amplifies its narrative of cultural convergence. The restaurant’s menu is a reflection of Chef Trocca’s personal history, weaving together the flavors of his native Argentina with those of European pioneers who traversed the Atlantic.
The logo brings together Old World references and heritages, and is crafted to echo the intertwined immigrant stories. The studio has ingeniously combined contradictory and mismatching elements to create a cohesive visual expression, symbolizing the harmonious blend of diverse influences. The branding also incorporates the lines of Argentinian tango steps, which are used as decorative elements throughout the design.
