Slanted Magazine’s Latest Issue Unpacks Sex and Representation

The latest issue of Slanted Magazine dives headfirst into a topic often tiptoed around: sex. But this isn’t about shock value, it’s a thoughtful exploration of gender, body image and representation, created in collaboration with Archive Artist Publications (AAP) and its director Hubert Kretschmer. With contributions from one of the world’s largest private collections of artist-made zines, booklets and posters, this issue offers a layered view of how bodies have been seen, shaped, and sometimes sidelined across decades of visual culture.

Rather than presenting a neat narrative, Slanted #45 invites readers into a complex conversation, one that challenges the way marginalized bodies are often portrayed (or ignored) in mainstream media. It’s less about answers, more about asking better questions. Through provocative imagery and pointed curation, the issue highlights perspectives that are queer, non-binary, racialized, disabled, and too often underrepresented.

A special edition is also available, including four striking art prints by Guillaume Kashima, who also designed the cover.
