Sinfonia Varsovia: A Branding Concept That Treats a Logo Like Sheet Music
Published Jun 30, 2026
Polish studio TOFU developed its proposed identity for Sinfonia Varsovia, the Warsaw orchestra, around a single structural idea: a wordmark that behaves like musical notation.
At the center of the system is a mark inspired by musical harmony. The letters of “Sinfonia Varsovia” are arranged like notes that rise and fall across a staff, creating a flexible structure that can shift, expand and recompose itself across different applications. That vertical rhythm suggests multiple tones resonating at once, while subtle semicircular compositions reference both the interior architecture of the venue and the shape of the orchestra itself.
The wider identity incorporates simplified versions of the mark that open up space for sub-brands, smaller ensembles, educational initiatives and festivals. Across posters, signage, books, merchandise and digital applications, the system uses repetition, modulation and carefully balanced layouts to create a sense of movement without losing clarity. The outcome feels like a visual symphony: beautifully distinct parts, one coherent harmony.
