Shanghai Poly Theater: Architectural Visualization by Adrian Iliescu
Published Mar 7, 2024
Romanian artist Adrian Iliescu produced this stunning 3D re-creation of the imposing Shanghai Poly Theater. This mesmerizing project showcases not just Adrian’s exceptional talent but also his deep appreciation for the architectural genius of Tadao Ando.
A self-confessed admirer of Tadao Ando’s architecture, Adrian has been rigorously exploring the Japanese architect’s work, translating it into his own 3D interpretations. The Shanghai Poly Theater is one of the latest addition to this series, along with his remarkable visualizations of the Chikatsu Asuka Museum and the Church of the Light.
The visualization presents the theater in both day and night settings, highlighting its changing persona under different lighting conditions. The daytime version captures the building’s stark, minimalist beauty, while the nighttime rendition reveals a structure transformed by light into a warmly inviting space.
