Scaf’s 3D Murals Push Street Art Into Another Dimension
Published Aug 20, 2025
French street artist Pierre Bertolotti, aka Scaf, continues to blur the line between painting and reality with his jaw-dropping anamorphic murals. We last featured his work several years ago, and his latest creations crank up the illusion even more, transforming everyday walls into portals for fantasy creatures and surreal encounters.
Scaf’s murals are crafted to spill out of the wall and into the viewer’s space. A dragon bursts out of a building with teeth bared, a snake coils through abandoned ruins or a playful mouse lounges on a crumbling block. He cleverly integrates props, perspective and surrounding architecture to amplify his illusions.
What really sets him apart isn’t just how big he goes, it’s how he sneaks humor into every piece. No matter how massive his subjects look, there’s always some playful detail that keeps things fun and approachable.
You can see more of Scaf’s latest 3D murals on his Instagram and revisit our previous feature here.
