From Flame to Flavor: Roastory’s Scorched Branding
Published Sep 18, 2025
Taiwanese art director and designer Lung-Hao Chiang cleverly incorporates fire into his identity and packaging design for Roastory, a coffee brand built on sensory storytelling.
The idea begins with the name itself, a fusion of “roast” and “story,” and takes shape through visuals that make heat, aroma, and flavor feel tangible. Each box and bag features a unique scorched cut-out that reveals the blend or variety inside.
Balancing raw energy with minimalist clarity, Lung-Hao’s concept avoids sterile premium-brand aesthetics in favor of something more authentic and engaging. The result is packaging that lets you “feel” the roast, from the caramel tones of the burn edges to the smoky gradients across the labels.
You can explore more of Lung-Hao Chiang’s design work on Behance and Instagram.
