Prismatica: Public Art Installation by RAW
Published Mar 15, 2015
Prismatica is an astonishing public art installation by Canadian architecture studio RAW. The installation includes 50 prisms made from panels laminated with a dichroic film – this allows the panels to transmit and reflect every color in the visible spectrum.
“The six and a half-foot-tall structures are spread throughout the Place des Festivals where visitors can walk around all sides of the rotating kaleidoscopes. At night, they display soft-but-colorful lights that illuminate those that are passing by.
Contained in their bases are projectors that create an infinite interplay of lights and reflections. And, as the prisms rotate, a soundtrack of bells play, too.”
