Chilean artist Federico Infante explores simple moments of reflection through Portrait of Stillness, an atmospheric series of paintings and studies shaped by memory, observation and imagination.

Solitary figures, distant houses and modest interior objects emerge from expansive fields of muted color, seemingly suspended between presence and disappearance. Federico crafts these hazy environments through layered paint, then carefully scrapes portions away to expose hidden tones and textures beneath the surface. The process gives each image a weathered, dreamlike quality while stripping the composition back to its emotional core.

The accompanying drawings extend this sense of stillness through repeated lines, overlapping figures and partially erased forms. These rhythmic marks echo the meditative patterns Federico finds in figures, plants and everyday objects, creating movement without disturbing the overall calm.
