Pop Culture Meets Graffiti in Oleg Pavlov’s Colorful Murals

Russian artist Oleg Pavlov has been creating graffiti for nearly two decades, turning unassuming walls into vibrant worlds where cartoon icons and video game heroes clash with dynamic three-dimensional lettering. His murals feature nostalgic references to classics like Earthworm Jim, Pinky and the Brain and the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, alongside playful scenes populated by quirky pigeons and other colorful creatures.

His elaborate compositions are packed with intricate details, using sharp geometric forms, overlapping shapes and dramatic lighting to create an impressive sense of depth. Bold graffiti lettering is a recurring element, twisting and folding through the environments and becoming an integral part of the scenery.

Oleg says his creative process starts with carefully planned sketches, focusing on form, rhythm and composition. He also uses Blender to experiment with three-dimensional forms and explore new possibilities beyond traditional graffiti.
