Pixelated Fashion: Kunihiko Morinaga’s “Screen” Collection for Anrealage
Published Mar 21, 2025
Anrealage’s latest collection, SCREEN, by Kunihiko Morinaga, reimagines clothing as a dynamic medium for self-expression. Showcased at Paris Fashion Week, the collection features outfits equipped with LED lights and reactive fabrics, acting as digital canvases that transform at the wearer’s command. Patterns, colors and messages shift and fade, making every piece a living, breathing work of art.
This collection isn’t just about tech, it’s about craftsmanship too. Take, for instance, a stunning stained-glass dress made from thousands of fabric scraps, which looks just as impressive as its high-tech twin made of LED-infused velvet. When activated, the velvet version lights up with intricate, kaleidoscopic patterns that mimic brightly-lit cathedral windows. The designs borrow heavily from both digital aesthetics like pixelated motifs, and traditional artistry, reflected in woven textures and quilted details.
You can see the full collection on Anrealage’s website.
