PAIR Node: A Modular AI Device by LFD
Published Jul 25, 2024
Korean design collective Life For Design (LFD) has reimagined the future of smartphones through their innovative “PAIR Node” concept. This modular AI-powered device aims to offer unparalleled flexibility and user-centric design.
The Node’s unique modular construction allows users to customize their device with up to eight interchangeable modules, or “nodes.” These nodes, which attach to the smartphone via magnetic clasps, can be effortlessly swapped to suit individual needs and preferences. From cameras and speakers to mini screens and braille displays, the Node redefines what it means to own a truly personalized device.
LFD has designed the smartphone’s interface to be highly flexible as well. The layout can be adjusted from 16 columns down to 6, and widgets can be extended vertically and horizontally to fit the unique preferences of its owner.
