NASA Levion: A Le Mans Hypercar Built from Aerospace DNA

Last year we featured Hyunbeen Kye’s Hyundai Second Star concept, a retro-futurist collaboration with Chris Min that imagined a modern Hyundai through the lens of classic sports car design. His latest project moves in a very different direction, trading nostalgia for something far more aerodynamic and aggressive.

The NASA Levion Concept Car combines Le Mans hypercar proportions with cues borrowed directly from aerospace engineering. Its long teardrop cabin, enclosed rear surfaces and oversized central exhaust give the body the presence of a prototype endurance racer, while the huge rear wing, turbine-like detailing and canopy-like glass push it closer to something that’s ready for launch. Kye mentions the Toyota GR010 Hybrid, the General Dynamics F-16 Fighting Falcon and the Space Shuttle as core references, and you can see all three in the way the surfaces tighten around mechanical volumes.

Alongside the polished renders, Kye also shares technical sketches that expose suspension layouts, turbine forms and layered internal structures, treating the concept less like a fantasy object and more like a machine built around functional intent.
