Monuments: Amazing Portrait Projections by Craig Walsh

Published Dec 19, 2023

Monuments is a stunning project by Australian artist Craig Walsh which combines technology and creativity, featuring large-scale portraits projected onto various urban and natural landscapes.

The concept of Monuments is simple yet profound. It involves projecting high-definition images of people’s faces onto trees, buildings and other structures. Many of these faces are portraits of local people who have been nominated by their communities for their contributions, making the project a celebration of unsung heroes. The project transforms these individuals into larger-than-life figures, literally casting them in a new light.

Craig’s project has been displayed in various locations across Australia and internationally. Each installation is customized to its location, taking into account the unique characteristics of the landscape and the local community.

You can explore additional installations from the Monuments series, along with Craig’s other projects, by visiting his website.
