Metallic Marvels: Gorgeous Sculptures by Carlo Borer
Published Dec 19, 2024
Swiss artist Carlo Borer merges technology, design and craftsmanship to create extraordinary sculptures. He starts his creative process with CAD software, conceptualizing his forms digitally before bringing them to life using high-tech tools like lasers, along with his meticulous handcrafting techniques.
Most of his pieces are crafted from stainless steel and feature curvilinear shapes that blur the boundaries between organic and industrial, leaving interpretation up to the viewer. Sometimes he mixes things up with other materials like aluminum, rubber, polyurethane, and even animal fur to make his work even more interesting and thought-provoking.
From public installations to private collections across Europe and the USA, his work has earned recognition for its futuristic aesthetic and conceptual depth. Exhibitions like Sleeping with the Gods in Basel and Beyond Fiction in Zurich have further cemented his reputation as a trailblazer in modern sculpture.
