McLaren F1 Reimagined: Concept by Kevin Andersson
Published Oct 7, 2024
Originally launched in 1993, the iconic McLaren F1 set a new benchmark for performance and innovation at the time. Fast forward over 30 years, and Swedish designer Kevin Andersson, a lifelong McLaren fan, decided it was time to reimagine this classic car, blending its timeless features with cutting-edge technology.
Kevin kicked things off with an in-depth study of the original F1, to make sure his modern interpretation stayed true to the original. The transformation included bringing in some modern Formula 1 technology into the suspension and brake systems, to boost the car’s performance and reliability.
Once the core components were established, Kevin shifted gears to focus on how the car would look. The exterior bodywork balances the original F1’s aerodynamic silhouette with modern design touches, while the interior merges comfort with cutting-edge technology. After going through several rounds of tweaks, Kevin landed on a concept car that pays tribute to its classic roots while confidently stepping into the future.
