Masters of Porcelain: Classic 80s Toys Reimagined

Published Mar 5, 2026

An artist known as @recollectiontoys on Instagram has been taking classic childhood action figures from the 80s, from He-Man and Skeletor to Boba Fett and Jabba the Hutt, and recasting them in hand-crafted porcelain.

The sculptures in the (Re)Collection project retain the proportions and surface details of their original toy counterparts, but the material changes everything. The once-rugged figures now look fragile and ornamental, with smooth, glossy surfaces that catch the light instead of showing the wear of playground adventures.

You can discover more of these sculptural toys on Instagram, and if you’re interested in picking one up, the artist also sells one-of-a-kind pieces through Etsy.
