Liquid Motion: Mesmerising 3D Experiments by Jakub Spacek

London-based FX designer Jakub Spacek explores the expressive potential of simulated liquids through a series of striking 3D experiments that combine physics, sculpture and digital art. Featured here are some visuals from his Goo and Nano Gel projects, two collections of fluid forms that ooze, stretch and merge with one another.

In Goo, purple, pink and blue masses drape themselves over minimalist architectural forms, glowing from within or revealing marbled surfaces that appear to shift beneath their glossy skins. The Nano Gel series takes a more conceptual approach, imagining an intelligent liquid capable of travelling through the body in search of infected areas. Transparent membranes, bubble-like textures and microscopic details transform the healing agent into a hypnotic visual metaphor, suggesting a futuristic, biologically engineered material.
