Lines of Compassion: Illustrations by Katie Chandler
Published Jun 26, 2025
Katie Chandler is a Brooklyn-based illustrator and designer whose work is full of quiet charm, gentle color palettes and thoughtful ideas. Her diverse portfolio spans everything from editorial pieces, branding and personal projects, and everything she creates is grounded in care and curiosity, two values she likes to bring to every creative collaboration.
Her style has a soft, calming energy that invites you to slow down and take a closer look. There’s a kind of poetic stillness to her work, but it never feels static. Instead, her illustrations seem to hold space, for reflection, openness and a little bit of wonder.
Katie’s personal projects often explore themes like calm contemplation and “the poetic unknown,” which she leaned into during her solo show (pause), a series of paintings that asked viewers to take a moment and just be still. That same quiet thoughtfulness carries through in her commercial work too, where she helps bring ideas to life in everything from motion graphics to social campaigns.
