Line: A Pixel Art Short Film by Lucas Etcheverry

Speed, ambition and the nostalgic charm of retro video games collide in Line, a spectacular pixel art short film by animator Lucas Etcheverry. Set in the South African desert, the story follows Niki, a driver determined to break the land-speed record set by the Thrust SSC in 1997. Behind the wheel of the supersonic Bloodhound vehicle, he pushes the limits of speed and engineering, until a devastating accident leaves him fighting for his life.

Lucas brings this high-octane story to life with stunning pixel art that draws inspiration from classic 16-bit video games and Japanese animation. Vibrant coral skies, towering pastel clouds and expansive desert landscapes provide the backdrop for intricately detailed machinery, expressive character close-ups and thrilling action sequences.

Beyond the adrenaline-fueled spectacle, Line is also a story about resilience and determination. Still recovering from his injuries, Niki must confront his fears and find the courage to get back behind the wheel.
