Kaleidoscopic Wonderland: Colorful Worlds by Pip & Pop

Published Oct 30, 2023

Immersing oneself into the vibrant and whimsical world of Pip & Pop is like stepping into a dream, a place where color knows no bounds and fantasy is the only reality. This is the realm of Australian artist Tanya Schultz, who, under the alias Pip & Pop, creates mesmerizing installations that are a feast for the eyes and the imagination.

Pip & Pop’s installations often involve the use of an eclectic range of materials, most notably sugar and sand. In one particular installation, up to 3,000 kilos of sand and 800 kilos of sugar were used. These materials, along with glitter and toys, are meticulously arranged to form psychedelic landscapes that seem to defy the laws of nature and physics.

The installations are not limited to a specific location or space. From the halls of art galleries to outdoor spaces, Pip & Pop’s creations can be found adding a dash of color and magic wherever they’re displayed. One of her recent works at Kew Gardens, titled ‘When flowers dream’, invited visitors to explore a vibrant food utopia.
