Hauntingly Adorable Illustrations by Peppa Potter

Published Oct 26, 2023

UK-based artist Peppa Potter creates captivating illustrations that seamlessly blend the cute and the creepy, the delightful and the eerie. Peppa is an illustrator with a knack for creating enchanting, otherworldly visuals. Her work is heavily inspired by folklore, mythology, and the natural world, resulting in a blend of fantasy and reality that’s distinctly her own.

Her “Abandoned Creatures” series features a variety of fantastical beings, each more adorable than the last. Peppa’s use of a greyscale palette and gentle lines harmonize to produce simple yet memorable compositions. Despite their sometimes eerie appearances, her creatures are not meant to inspire fear. Instead, they evoke a sense of empathy, a longing to understand their stories, their loneliness, their abandonment. This emotional connection is what makes “Abandoned Creatures” so compelling.

If you would like to explore more of Peppa’s creations, you can visit her website or discover her art prints on Etsy.
