Glass Pavillion by M Space Reimagines the Meditation Hall as a Glowing Urban Sanctuary
Published Jun 11, 2026
Set within a roof garden in Bangkok, the Glass Pavillion by M Space is a contemporary meditation hall that transforms traditional Thai architectural references into something calm and luminous. The pavilion sits above a shallow reflecting pool, surrounded by greenery and dark glass buildings, with its axis aligned toward the nearby Great Stupa of Wat Dhammamongkol Thawonbun Nantawihan.
The stepped exterior draws from vihara roofs and chedis, abstracting those forms into a layered glass structure that feels both ancient and futuristic. Inside, pale gray steel, warm teak and natural light come together in a long, serene chamber, where the rhythm of the ceiling and walls evokes the shape of a lotus bud.
Light plays a central role throughout the project, shifting with the weather and time of day to create an atmosphere of quiet movement. At dusk, the pavilion glows like a lantern, its warm wooden interior reflected in the water and framed by the dense urban landscape around it. For more, visit M Space’s website.
