Expressive Geometric Characters by Ilker Türe

Turkey-based illustrator and art director Ilker Türe has spent 25 years developing his distinctive visual language, one that is shaped by bold geometry, expressive characters and playful storytelling. He combines angular forms, solid blocks of color and subtle textures to give his subjects a paper-cut feel.

Ilker has a clear love for developing expressive characters. His portfolio includes roman soldiers, fishermen, travelers and historical figures, all exaggerated through oversized noses, elongated limbs and hard-edged silhouettes, with small details and surrounding objects helping each scene tell its story. Some are simple character studies, others densely layered scenes, but the same graphic vocabulary ties everything together.

Over the course of his career, Ilker has applied this approach to projects for major brands including Apple, Coca-Cola, Starbucks, Turkish Airlines, Lipton and Red Bull. More recently, his illustrations have also entered the world of football through work for LEGO and FIFA, translating iconic players like Lamine Yamal and Lionel Messi into his geometric style.
