Hands-on with Powerwave’s lineup.

With the Nintendo Switch 2 finally in players’ hands, it’s a good time to start thinking about accessories and if you’re in Australia, there’s a local brand worth checking out. Powerwave has rolled out a full range of Switch 2 gear and they’re shaping up to be some of the best options out there. Let’s take a look.

Powerwave Premium Carry Case

A solid pick for anyone who takes their console on the go. This carry case is tough on the outside, soft on the inside and quite roomy. There’s space for up to 30 game cartridges, plus a zipped pocket for extras like chargers, cables and earbuds.

The overall build quality is excellent and the case isn’t too bulky, so you can easily slide into a backpack.

Powerwave Multifunctional Grip

This one’s a great upgrade if you prefer a more traditional controller feel, with some added bonuses. We all know JoyCons aren’t exactly the most comfortable controllers. Nintendo does include a grip in the Switch 2 box to improve the ergonomics, which definitely helps, but that’s as far as it goes, as there’s no charging functionality included.

That’s where Powerwave’s Multifunctional Grip comes in. Not only does it let you keep playing while your controllers charge (thanks to built-in power pass-through), but it also adapts to how you play.

Slot in both JoyCons for a more traditional, full-sized gamepad experience, or use a single controller if you’re playing co-op with a friend. It’s a simple but clever upgrade for more comfortable and flexible gaming.

Powerwave Silicone Grips

These soft, anti-slip grips not only protect your JoyCons from everyday wear and tear, but also make them feel much nicer in-hand, all while adding a pop of color to your Switch 2.

They’re easy to fit, don’t get in the way of buttons or triggers, and add a nice bit of comfort without overcomplicating things. They’ve done a really good job color matching these to complement the JoyCon 2 accents, but there’s also a black version if you’re after something more low-key.

Powerwave Game Card Case

If your game cartridges tend to end up loose in drawers or floating around in bags, this compact case is a real lifesaver and a great way to carry your library with you on the go.

It holds 24 game cartridges, has hidden microSD slots and feels really well-made with its hard shell and a satisfying magnetic closure. Simple, clean and practical.

More from Powerwave’s Switch 2 range

These are just a few highlights, but Powerwave also has a growing lineup of other Switch 2 accessories worth checking out, including some handy starter bundles, all available via major Aussie retailers.
