AYANEO REMAKE Collection Unveiled: A Celebration of Retro Gaming Culture
Published Nov 11, 2023
AYANEO has just revealed REMAKE, a brand new collection of retro-inspired gaming devices and accessories that got us giddy with anticipation.
The recently announced AYANEO Flip KB and DS, along with the AYANEO Slide, will form part of this new lineup, which will also feature a nostalgic range of new products that draw inspiration from iconic devices such as the Macintosh computer, NES and Super Famicom.
Each product in the REMAKE collection will incorporate iconic design elements from the old classics combined with the sleek, contemporary aesthetic that AYANEO is known for. Here’s our first look at the new lineup.
AYANEO Retro Mini PC AM01
The AYANEO Retro Mini PC AM01 is an adorable recreation of Apple’s legendary Macintosh computer. AYANEO says this compact Windows-based machine will offer several configuration options to accommodate different needs, ranging from simple workflow tasks to more demanding video editing and gaming requirements.
The AM01 is set for an official release in mid to late November. You can take a look at some pictures of the Mini PC below and more details about the product can be found on Indiegogo and AYANEO’s official website.
AYANEO Retro Mini PC AM02
The second Mini PC entry in the REMAKE collection pays tribute to the classic NES or Famicom console. The AYANEO Retro Mini PC AM02 includes a few interesting design touches, like an integrated screen on its exterior that can display a basic clock or more complex information when paired with specific software.
The AM02 also includes a cartridge slot that mimics the one found on the original NES. This slot cleverly hides some of the device’s connections, including a USB-C port, two USB-A ports and a 3.5mm audio jack.
AYANEO Pocket DMG
One of the most anticipated products in the collection, the AYANEO Pocket DMG is a new vertical handheld that takes clear inspiration from the ubiquitous Game Boy.
Although the specifics of the device are currently under wraps, we can’t wait to see how it compares with the likes of the Anbernic RG35XX, MIYOO Mini, and the Analogue Pocket. You can take a look at some teaser images released by AYANEO below.
AYANEO Retro Power Bank
With its REMAKE concept, AYANEO is also venturing beyond gaming devices and into the accessories space. The AYANEO Retro Power Bank is a portable battery that beautifully recreates the look of the iconic Super Famicom / SNES console with a contemporary flair.
This neat little accessory further solidifies the concept of the new lineup, which revolves around the idea of adding a retro touch to every aspect of the gaming experience.
AYANEO Flip KB & AYANEO Flip DS
In addition to revealing this exciting selection of new products, AYANEO also treated us to some fresh images of the highly anticipated AYANEO Flip KB, and AYANEO Flip DS, which we previously covered here.
We also got a first look at the AYANEO Flip DS’ secondary display in action. The promotional images below reveal some handy shortcuts and quick settings on the bottom screen of the device.
AYANEO Slide
Closing up the REMAKE collection is the long-awaited AYANEO Slide. Initially unveiled in early 2023, this powerful 7840U handheld will feature a sliding screen mechanism that uncovers a full keyboard underneath.
In terms of ergonomics, the Slide looks like it might be the most comfortable handheld in the AYANEO REMAKE collection, with its nicely curved grips and a more premium design overall.
AYANEO’s devices are known for their excellent screens, and the Slide will feature a 6-inch display that promises to deliver unmatched brightness and color performance when compared to other gaming handhelds on the market.
The AYANEO Slide is scheduled to be released at the end of November, and the company plans to begin shipping the device to customers shortly following its launch.
This promising new collection aimed at retro enthusiasts is looking like another home run for AYANEO. We’ll share more information about these products when they’re revealed, but for now you can read the full AYANEO REMAKE announcement on their blog.
