AYANEO Opens Pre-Orders for the KONKR Pocket Advance, Reviving a Classic for Just $89

A modern take on one of the most recognizable handhelds of the 2000s.

AYANEO has opened pre-orders for the KONKR Pocket ADVANCE, a budget-friendly retro handheld that wears its Game Boy Advance inspiration proudly. The new device is available now through the AYANEO store from $89, with initial orders expected to ship before the end of August.

The Pocket ADVANCE pairs a familiar horizontal silhouette with a 3.5-inch 3:2 LCD running at 960 x 640, designed to support crisp 4x pixel-perfect scaling for compatible retro games. It’s powered by a MediaTek Helio G90T processor with active cooling, which should comfortably handle games from a wide range of classic systems, including some PlayStation 2 titles.

The controls are exactly what you’d expect from a modern GBA clone, with a traditional D-pad and face buttons, plus quality-of-life upgrades like separate L1, L2, R1 and R2 shoulder buttons, but there are no analog sticks here.

The handheld also features a 4000mAh battery, a microSD card slot, USB-C charging, Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.0 and a 3.5mm headphone jack, along with AYANEO’s proprietary Android stack: AYASpace for library management, the AYAHome launcher, and the AYASetting control panel.

The device measures 5.96 x 3.24 x 0.87 in (151.3 x 82.4 x 22mm) and weighs around 7.9oz (224g), and comes in four different colors: Navy Blue, Coral Orange and Heritage Gray. You can choose between 3GB RAM with 32GB storage for $89, and a 4GB/64GB configuration priced at $109.00 during the initial launch period.

The KONKR Pocket Advance is available for pre-order now on AYANEO’s official store.
