Playful Editorial Illustrations by Mark Long
Published Nov 4, 2024
Mark Long is a London-based freelance artist who uses traditional techniques to create expressive illustrations packed with humor and a vintage touch.
After spending several years teaching at a secondary school, he made the leap to focus on illustration in 2008. His artistic process is refreshingly old-fashioned and analog, embracing the hands-on feel of brush and ink, as well as lino and woodcuts. This gives his art a genuine warmth and authenticity that’s hard to find in today’s digital-first landscape.
His style is simple yet striking, and he loves to inject a light-hearted sense of humor into his illustrations. Over the years, his distinctive aesthetic has caught the eyes of clients like The Guardian, The Independent, The New York Times, Creative Review and Google.
