Drawing New Connections: Illustrations by Kateryna Bielobrova

Illustrator Kateryna Bielobrova is back with a striking new body of work that shows how much her visual language has evolved since we last featured her in early 2025. Known then for bold vector compositions, Kateryna has since traded those digital surfaces for raw pencil textures and organic digital brushes, bringing a more tactile, hand-drawn feel to her illustrations.

Her current portfolio spans portraiture and editorial illustration, with exaggerated proportions and surreal visual metaphors used to explore people, technology and contemporary life. Her latest pieces are crafted from dense, directional hatching, with restrained combinations of red, blue, black and occasional bursts of yellow or pink giving the images a distinctive signature. The shift feels particularly striking in portraits such as her depiction of Frida Kahlo, where familiar features are reconstructed through swirling fields of color and line.

Kateryna’s latest series, AI and Human Identity, takes this approach into more speculative territory. Across six illustrations, human figures merge with screens, machines and strange robots as she considers how artificial intelligence might shape our personalities, alter our perspectives and even influence the way we remember our own experiences.
