Dimensional Lettering Murals by Ricardo Gonzalez

Brooklyn-based artist and designer Ricardo Gonzalez continues to transform walls and public spaces with his vibrant, oversized lettering. Working under the name It’s a Living, he has developed a recognizable signature style that combines flowing calligraphy, bold colors and dimensional effects.

Ricardo’s most recent pieces usually start with a word or short phrase depicted in flowing white script, which he then builds outward, stacking bands of color behind the letters until they gain an impressive sense of mass and depth. His lettering works equally well across different environments and scales, from immersive interior installations to massive outdoor murals that transform otherwise unremarkable building facades into colorful landmarks.

For Ricardo, a word is also an image, one that can be interpreted in different ways depending on the viewer. His short, optimistic messages encourage reflection on everyday life, using typography to spread a little positivity while inviting passersby to finish the thought themselves.
