Copilot Home: A Tactile AI Assistant Prototype by Braz de Pina
Published Oct 3, 2025
Washington-based designer Braz de Pina explores the idea of bringing AI closer to people with Copilot Home, a sleek conceptual device that feels like a cross between a retro stereo system and a futuristic assistant.
Currently working as a Principal Designer at Microsoft, Braz explains that this isn’t an official project but rather a personal experiment, part of his ongoing exploration of AI-powered devices. His Copilot Home concept reimagines the role of AI in physical space, combining tactile buttons, a radial dial and a clean industrial aesthetic inspired by cyberpunk, anime, Star Wars and Dieter Rams’ timeless design principles.
The result is a playful gadget and sculptural object. With its minimalist aluminum body, oversized speaker grille and bold pops of red, Copilot Home would look equally at home in a design museum or a sci-fi set. Braz calls it a “quick exercise” rather than a polished product, but its charm lies exactly in that, an imaginative glimpse of how AI might live with us in more present, human-centered ways.
You can explore more of Braz de Pina’s work on his website, Instagram and Behance.
