One Line Wonders: Expressive Illustrations by Jonathan Calugi
Published Oct 8, 2024
Italian artist Jonathan Calugi creates one-of-a-kind illustrations with a signature continuous line art style. He combines basic shapes and limited color palettes to create pieces that epitomize expressive minimalism.
Drawing inspiration from creative legends like Paul Rand and Pablo Picasso, Jonathan embraces a ‘less is more’ approach, allowing the simplicity of his lines and shapes to convey complex ideas and emotions. He finds inspiration in the simple, everyday experiences of life, nature and human interaction. In a Q&A with Holstee, he discussed how his work is driven by a message of love and human connection, saying:
“The main idea is that where my line finishes your line starts. A loop without an end.”
