Biophilia: Ethereal Animal Portraits by Jim Naughten
Published Nov 27, 2024
Jim Naughten’s Biophilia series is a fascinating blend of art, nature and technology. Known for his work in photography, stereoscopy and painting, Jim has always drawn inspiration from historical and natural history themes, and this project is no exception.
The series takes its name from biologist E.O. Wilson’s concept of “biophilia,” which refers to the innate connection humans feel with the natural world. Through these AI-generated, dreamlike depictions of animals like tigers, wolves and cranes, Jim explores our fading bond with the natural world and invites us to reconnect.
