Analog Appeal: Sound Room Branding by Public Eye
Published Aug 12, 2026
Calgary-based studio Public Eye has created a warm, retro-inspired identity for Sound Room, a listening bar that’s all about analog music, cold beer and the simple pleasure of slowing down.
The branding draws heavily from the golden age of hi-fi, with visual cues borrowed from vintage record labels, stereo manuals and old-school audio equipment. A chunky custom wordmark gives the identity its most distinctive feature, complemented by a simple waveform-like symbol and a restrained palette of vivid blue, warm cream and deep brown. Across menus, coasters, matchbooks, signage and the website, the system feels deliberately tactile and slightly utilitarian, echoing the raw materials and analog hardware found throughout the space.
Designed in collaboration with interior studio Way of Normal, Sound Room carries that nostalgic sensibility into the physical environment through warm timber, soft lighting, stacks of records and vintage hi-fi gear.
