Alexis Marcou’s “Dark Horse” Series: A Bold Tribute to the Ford Mustang
Published May 15, 2025
Alexis Marcou’s “Dark Horse” series captures the daring spirit of the Ford Mustang through a collection of vivid, hard-hitting illustrations. Built around a bold red palette, the self-initiated project pays tribute to the Mustang’s power and speed. This striking color choice, paired with Alexis’ dynamic lines and intricate shading, creates a sense of movement and energy that brings each piece to life.
To create these powerful visuals, Alexis used a combination of analog and digital techniques. His clean, precise line work is softened by textured layers formed from scanned acrylic brushstrokes, giving the artwork a raw, tactile quality.
