A Daily Cloud: A Fun Project by Chris Judge

In the summer of 2020, during the first Covid-19 lockdown, artist Chris Judge embarked on a fun creative project that would bring a touch of joy to people worldwide.

While in lockdown, Chris was spending a lot of time in his garden with his family, where they learned to appreciate the often-overlooked wonders of the natural world. Armed with his old Canon camera, Chris’ daughter started capturing hundreds of photos of flowers, insects and birds around their garden. Her keen eye for detail and the beauty she captured fueled Chris’ own creative spirit. One particularly calm evening, as he gazed at the sky, he noticed clouds shaped like a monkey and a bear, and quickly took some pictures. This sparked an idea that would evolve into “A Daily Cloud.”

Chris began drawing lines over his photos of clouds, turning them into playful representations of animals and other fun shapes. He shared these illustrations on Twitter and Instagram, where they received an enthusiastic response. This encouraged him to continue creating and sharing these delightful cloud drawings every day, bringing a moment of light-heartedness to anyone who saw them.
