The Wall Stitch Project by YOY & K’s Design Lab
Published Dec 23, 2014
The Wall Stitch Project is a “proposal of new sign design with high-res 3D printing” created by Japanese design studio YOY in collaboration with K’s Design Lab.
“The project employs the latest in modelling techniques and hi-resolution 3D printing to execute the lettering, which closely resembles hand-stitched embroidery directly on the wall. Both the texture and specific tactile features of thread are achieved with plastic-printed materials, and can be painted with any gloss colour. Various fonts and styles can be fixed on a spectrum of walls, such as concrete, glass, and tiles.”
