Norway’s New Banknotes by Snøhetta & The Metric System

Norges Bank, the central bank of Norway, ran a competition between eight creative teams to choose a unique design for the country’s new banknotes.
The final concept will combine two designs into one. The pixelated abstract artworks produced by architecture and design firm Snøhetta were chosen for the back of the notes and a more traditional approach with illustrations created by graphic design studio The Metric System will be featured on the front.
