Guest Post: Design & Illustrations by Jayde A. Cardinalli

Published Sep 15, 2011

Today’s guest post comes from David Robinson, a brilliant graphic designer and art director based in Bristol, UK.

David’s got a great portfolio that is really worth checking out. He’s also one half of the new creative agency Hype and Slippers, in partnership with developer Oliver Gosling. Make sure you stop by his website to find out more about him and his work.

For the guest post, David decided to share with us the beautiful work of Jayde A. Cardinalli:

“Jayde can do no wrong in my book. Aside from being exceedingly good at design and illustration (in equal measure), she lives in San Francisco where she works for uber-inspiring agency ‘I Shot Him’ and possibly the most beautifully curated website I’ve ever visited: ‘The Bold Italic’. (Oh, she can also be found riding hands-free on her bicycle: a life skill I’m extremely jealous of).

Whether she’s producing beautifully cute illustrations or creating stunning identities for all sorts of companies, Jayde’s creative output makes me drool. Her use of colour is truly inspiring. She carefully tailors each palette, always with the client brief and vision at it’s heart. She manages to leave her individual mark on each project yet has a fantastic ability to adapt her skills to any brief.

Using both hand-drawn and vector elements in her illustration work, she executes a fresh aesthetic with a gorgeous retro/vintage vibe. I’d like to say that she works with ‘dream briefs’ in order to produce such inspiring work, but it’s not just that. I could attribute San Francisco for her great output, but it’s much more than that. She quite obviously lives and breathes design. She loves what she does and it absolutely shows in everything she does.

She’s also partial to a good whiskey cocktail. I’m in love.”
